Holder for End-drilling Dowels and Tool Handles

Holder for End-drilling Dowels and Tool Handles.

Without damaging it, how do you hold a short length of dowel or a turned wooden handle while you drill a hole to insert, for example, the tang (pointed end) of a file to create a handle?

This adjustable jig holds handles and dowels of different sizes and enables the user to safely centre and drill the holes without damaging the handle such as when held in a regular vise.

A selection of shaped washers for different size dowels are stored on one of the M6 knob-bolts.
