Trailer Stand To keep the drawbar of his trailer level without undue weight on the jockey wheel when it was in storage (creating a flat section on the jockey wheel's rubber tyre), Lionel made this trailer stand. He welded a 50mm towball to one end of an 18-inch length of 2x2 steel box section, welded a steel disk to the other end, put a heavy-weight eye bolt through a hole below the towball and welded the nut in place.  This not only made a useful stand that  kept the drawbar level, but was made more secure as the trailer safety chain was padlocked to the ring to discourage would-be thieves.   Brass Earthing Safety Spike for a Generator "A brass spike, handle for insertion into the soil (and for removal), fastened to long earthing wire with an alligator clip."  This is how Lionel described this safety device made from a length of brass rod, tapered at one end and riveted to a t-shaped handle at the other.  A wire and alligator clip were added and it was then ready for use on his portable generator to prevent electric shock when working outdoors in damp conditions.   Photo and description courtesy of Lionel Hartley.   Free-standing BBQ Extension Salvaged from a broken Bar-B-Que, this gas burner (stove-top) was given a new life by the creation of a welded metal stand making it free-standing.   Trailer/Caravan Puller/Manoeuvrer This manual trailer/caravan puller or manoeuvrer is of all metal construction and is 54-inches (137cm) long to provides extra leverage to easily manoeuvre a trailer or caravan into awkward spaces (push or pull) when used in conjunction with the trailer/caravan jockey wheel. Up and down movement of the handle is possible due to a spring-loaded standard (50mm) tow ball on a welded and hinged framework.
