Flush-cut Hacksaw
Flush-cut Hacksaw
When a wood screw is concealed with a wooden plug (e.g. from a plug cutter) the excess needs to be cut flush with the surface before sanding the plug to an invisible finish.
This home-made right-angle saw is made from a hacksaw blade bolted to a simply shaped wooden frame.
Where the blade is attached, the handle has been angled slightly so that the resultant very gentle bow in the hacksaw blade enables the excess protruding wood from the plug to be cut flush with the surface without damage to the surrounding woodwork.
Tiny bolts and washers have been used to hold the blade, enabling it to be replaced when necessary.
