Clamp-on Infant's Seat

 Clamp-on Infant's Seat
This infant's seat was made to clamp onto a dining-room table or outdoor picnic table as a portable substitute for a highchair.
All three of Lionel's children used it at one-time-or-other during their infancy.

It was made using some cast aluminium clamps off an old laundry clothes-wringer, some aluminium tubing and seat initially made from an old refrigerator shelf folded in half.
It was later modified to support a canvas seat instead, so it could fold flat for travelling.
