Blade-Drill Sharpening Jig
Blade-Drill Sharpening Jig.
Blade-drills are easily sharpened. It is simply a matter of filing a 10-degree bevel on the left-hand side of each face.
To make this more accurate, this jig holds the blunt drill-bit in place, the jig is placed in the bench vice and by following the tapered sides with a flat file, the user can accurately reproduce the optimum cutting angle.
He says it was simply made: an eight-inch offcut of 3x2 cut in two at precisely 10 degrees, grooved along the length and the two halves fastened together with two carriage bolts, washers and wingnuts on alternate sides.
